Urgency

If you can create a sense of urgency in your copy, you can reduce the likelihood that readers defer action. Fake imperatives and phoney deadlines are cheap tricks that will only undermine your readers’ trust; you need to find genuine reasons why it’s in their interests to act fast. Is stock running low? Are you approaching a key deadline or delivery window? Is a certain colour or limited edition running out?

Ask your brief

Why do your readers need to act right now?
