Metaphors and similes

These literary devices can make alien ideas feel like familiar friends. A metaphor is a figure of speech that describes something using words that aren’t literally true – ‘you are a star’. A simile states that two things are alike – ‘you shine like a star’. Both are useful in adding colour to your copy, engaging your readers’ minds and telling compelling stories.
